JPM is only recruiting at 8 schools for IBD Analysts this summer

https://JPMorgan.tal.net/vx/lang-en-GB/appcentre-5/brand-6/candidate/jobboard/vacancy/6

Harvard Yale Princeton Stanford MIT Columbia Duke Williams

If you don't go to one of these 8 schools, you're SOL. Why is the hiring so bad now? I thought JPM used to recruit at most of the good state schools back in the day for Investment Banking and Sales & Trading.

seedy underbellyUnbelievable. Where's Penn, Wharton?

Dude, Wharton is semi-target at best. No surprise there.

L. Oh. L.

reddog23They currently have on campus interviews scheduled at my school (semi-target at the very best, most people here would consider it a non target) for sales and trading as well as ibd (public finance). Just no info session.

I'm sure it's the same for many other schools.

I really wouldn't look too much into this.

Yeah, IBD "public finance" - right.

?? It's obviously less desirable than basically every other group but it's still investment banking.

"We paused and chuckled together at the notion of Municipal Finance, wading in the pathetic image of some dude convinced he was saving the world, one shitty Iowa hospital bond deal at a time."

Damn I knew I should have gone to Williams when I was accepted. But my parents had never even heard of it. Imagine- the smallest liberal arts school in the country. Even if they take just 1 person from there its a great intake/applicant ratio for recruiting. lol :)

They took 6 from Williams for SA this past summer.

Villanova is only being recruited for "Private Banking" according to the link on the Careers site. Also, JPM is visiting Towson and Delaware for various middle/back office and commercial positions.

Only the 8 schools listed above seem to have info sessions specifically for NEXT SUMMER INTERNSHIPS. We're not even talking full time hiring here since everyone knows that JPM fills their roster entirely from the summer interns. The 8 schools listed are the only ones JPM has on its calendar so far for Summer 2012 IBD/S&T internships and that's crazy.

This information is incorrect... The website information session list probaby has not been fully updated and usually does not include all of the events planned for the year.

I go to a target school not listed there, and am participating in a recruiting event here in a month or so

Sorry bro, The Ohio State University is not a target school.

"Look, you're my best friend, so don't take this the wrong way. In twenty years, if you're still livin' here, comin' over to my house to watch the Patriots games, still workin' construction, I'll fuckin' kill you. That's not a threat, that's a fact.
