JPM Layoffs
Does anyone have any intel on potential layoffs? In a product group and hearing it will happen in the next few weeks, but not sure if it will be in a more direct way (i.e. GS) or indirect (i.e. placing individuals on PIPs, paying zero bonus to have people quit, etc.), and what levels it will affect
I work at JP Morgan. I was top bucket first year, top bucket second year, and all of a sudden I need massive improvement / growth. Literally opposite of what I heard in my mid-year reviews. Not sure if my independent reviewer was on a cocktail of drugs while doing his diligence on me or if the firm is planning to tactically let go of VPs and associates based on "performance" reasons. Either way - feel like I was spat on and have already called upon my network to summon me to the mega funds. Good wake up call as I'm tired of managing directors getting wasted at happy hours and complaining they've wasted their lives doing something meaningless. Arrivederci
“I didn't see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from JPMorgan was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.”

Hey I'm a incoming at JPM can I PM you for some advice if you don't mind, I know it’s the best thing to comment but wanted your insights
My brother… he is leaving the firm and clearly doesn’t want anything to do with them right now. Why, in gods name, would he PM you tips and tricks for JPM
Some of you interns need to learn to read the room
Oh yeah JPM is the most pathetic of all banks when it comes to lay offs
Life is better far away from them :)
Heard 7 directors in IB were laid off today
