Just feeling really low and shitty after bonuses

Current First year analyst at a MM in a MCOL city and like the title says I got a really shitty bonus and was told I’m going to get fired if I don’t improve. I’ve been staying till 3am for so long and genuinely thought my work product was good. I know I need to improve my attention to detail but it’s genuinely so draining when my brain is fried from staying up and getting zero sleep for weeks straight. Does anyone have any helpful advice on how to improve my attention to detail despite getting absolutely cranked at this sweatshop? I don’t want to get fired but also the lateral recruiting environment is so horrendous right now.

Had something very similar happen to me during my first year. Was at a MM bank and got a slightly below average bonus vs. peers because the VP I worked with didn't like me even though my work was average. He also frequently made dickish off-handed comments.

I ended up lateraling a few months later to a BB and my performance improved significantly and got top bucket. My suggestion would be to lateral ASAP. Sometimes it's just the group culture you don't fit in with and a change of scenery really helps.

Look I have adhd so I know this I need strategies to help. Write everything down. Have a notebook next to you write down what you’ve done. Then after every task write down the feedback you get after you’ve gotten it

Attention to detail is important it doesn’t matter how long you stay till if you make a shit ton of careless errors. Then when you’ve done a task write down what you did well what you didn’t. Be honest with yourself. Then before you start your next task read about what you didn’t do so well and really remember to not make the same mistake again.

Making a mistake is fine and normal all  good what’s not all good is constantly repeating the same ones.

Yeah jr sucks but learn from it move on

Agree with comment to write things down. Also used to print up mark-ups and highlight to make sure completed. Knew some thst used to record meetings where mark-ups were provided specifically to make sure comments captured - I never did they but clearly worked for that person. These are general ideas as hard to comment without understanding explicitly where things may have mbeen missed. Hopefully goes without saying that you need to find time to take care of yourself, sleep, eating, and physical activity. I know easier said vs done but this helps. Would get very specific feedback next quarter or interim check-in and would also see if a path / they are vested and open to recalibrating you. If not or if you don’t feel 100pct comfortable I agree to start looking.
