Know anything about Series 65 license???

Hi All, I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the proper section but I have some questions about the Series 65 license. I learned about this license a few weeks ago and have an interest in taking the exam. I've done some research but I can't find too much explanation about what kinds of positions you can get or whether or not you can start a business as an investment advisor. Most of what I've read states the license qualifies you as an "investment advisor representative".

Does anyone know much about this license? Know anything about the type of firms I could work for or whether I could start a business on this license alone?

I have 10 years of finance experience, mostly in equipment financing, but want to move away from it into an investment focused role.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Almost all financial advisors will have the 65 or the equivalency to it so they can get you into managed money aka wrap accounts. This way, they can charge you about 1% (give or take) AUM.

65 isnt too bad its being able to charge for your service/advice, its not that brutal if your in finance just study for it and you be fine the exam is straight forward and espically if you have 10 yrs of finance under your belt...
