Just keep worrying about having fun playing sports, being a good teammate, getting good grades and making friends at school. Being a well rounded person goes a long way in building connections and networking is 95% of the recruiting game. If you really want to get ahead you could start networking post spring break freshman year but honestly think anything before August going into sophomore year is overkill. The technical portion is quite easy even from a Lac education so wouldn’t worry too much about it until sophomore fall/winter

Yes Amherst is very well respected. Also, one of the best parts of being at a nescac is that you not only have your own school to reach out to, but the whole conference has people willing to connect because of the similar background (especially amplified with other athletes)

This + start looking into what may interest you. Yes M&A and Rx are constantly talked about on here, but there’s much more out there. I’m in a group I didn’t even know existed a year ago and get to work on almost everything debt related in some way or function (IG, High Yield, Leveraged, basically terms, etc etc).

The more you know the more you have to talk about and connect with others. Wall Street Prep has some good primers you can read. Try to read 2-3 WSJ or Yahoo Finance articles a week, even a brief skim. Don’t be insufferable and network sooner rather than later.
