Lateral from PF to Rx
Recently graduated from a non-target and started out in project finance at top 10 BS bank. I came in knowing I want to lateral but plan on giving my the job 100% until then. My goal is to lateral into Rx within a year. I’m a realist and know this would be a rare transition but plan on giving it a try at first. l also plan to recruit/network for LevFin at the same time and eventually give Rx another shot if/when LevFin lateral is successful.
Few questions:
Has anyone ever seen/heard of a lateral from PF to Rx?
From my position, what can I do to elevate myself as a candidate for Rx?
For PF I’m not required to take any series exams, would this hinder me during the lateral process? Would taking the SIE on my own time help in anyway, besides saving myself time in the future?
Was planning on outreach in 1-3 months. Is that too soon, early, or just right?
Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks for reading and your help in advance
