Lateral Strikeouts

So I'm currently working in a boutique shop in Canada, looking to lateral to a larger shop/Big 5 bank. I've struck out in 2/3 of the interview processes thus far (1 first round, 1 final round), and am currently tearing my hair out waiting to hear back from the 3rd. I'm quite old for an analyst (25 w/ 1-YOE), and am getting worried that my options are dwindling.

I love the industry, and I really do like the work, but I don't realistically see myself getting any more experience at the shop I'm currently at. My thoughts are that if I can't make a move now, it's only going to get harder to make a move in the future.

There aren't a lot of relevant shops in the city I'm in (likely 1-2 more good options). Is it possible to try to interview again to a shop I've already interviewed at assuming another position comes up? If not, what options might you monkeys suggest?

I don't think your options are dwindling with respect to age. I have an accounting background and plenty of b4 guys go from audit to TAS and then to banking. If an opportunity comes up, I'm sure you can apply to a place where you interviewed already. It's smaller up here so networking will be key. Good luck.

I dont think you're that old, plenty of people I've met were older than you as analyst. Hell I know a few that already had kids as interns lol.

That being said with the job market being what it is wouldn't be counting on anything opening up right now. I havent tried to lateral myself but I would imagine trying to interview at the same shops where you've already gotten a no and nothing has meaningfully changed on your end between your rejection and recent application (i.e. less than 6 months have passed) would not yield a fruitful result. Is it at all possible to move out of the city you've currently in? Admittedly not familiar with the Canadian scene so if theres only one city worth being in careerwise and that isn't feasible my bad.
