Have a feeling these might beat BofA
Nomura might beat BofA this year

AS3 -> VP1
Base: $250
Bonus: $150 ($125 cash, $25 stock)
Multiple AS1s with $200 base, $100 bonus. Infuriating given the general sweatiness of the group.
I'm at a LMM/MM shop and our AS1 comp was higher than this, shame on Lazard leadership...
Ditto, that bonus usually comes stapled to a PIP.
lol this is bofa level comp. holy crap.
AS2 -> AS3
Base: $225
Bonus: $125 (90% cash/10% stock)
Good feedback, not sure about bucket but was told this was in line with peers so I assume mid. Disappointed…better outcome than last year but that’s not saying much since 2023 was terrible
Terrible for a successful boutique. Looks like these places have come to the conclusion they don’t need to pay their employees, seemingly most banks. RIP banking.
Lazard consistently worse than other boutiques, year over year - it’s as if they benchmark to BBs
Mid bucket here is 6 figures off PWP, $75k off PJT
Huge wif
ASO2
$225k base / $125k bonus (90% cash)
Upper mid
People are pissed given the performance this year
Noice
Are these numbers real? That old litquidity survey had me thinking Lazard pay was supreme? [https://docsend.com/view/yq4z9rfd8kegxb2k]
These are totally wrong - haven’t heard of comp like that at Lazard ever.
They always are above bulges and lower than direct peers (EVR, PJT, PWP, MOE, CVP, and Gugg)
Not sure why they consistently pay lower, makes no sense - discount EB. They will continue to miss out on talent
Really interesting. So far these numbers seem worse than the GS, MS, JPM bonus threads by a good margin.
Those PWP bonuses are blowing these out of the water: https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forum/investment-banking/pwp-bonuses-20…
A bit embarrassed to say this survey was a main driver of me deciding to get my MBA
EB my ass... pays in line or worse than BBs. At this point only the legacy is what is left of Lazard
Better than Jefferies, pay you hal this amount, tell you it's a privilege to work on the ____ platform, and then they f'ing kill you..
These #s are worse than jef lol. Go look at the jef thread
Heard it was garbage.
Heard it was pure shit
Have heard of numbers much better than what was posted so far. Maybe bands are wider than normal this year?
What have you heard
Lazard knows the value of their junior positions is the network and exit opportunities. We’ll see if they miss out on talent or if their cuts have no impact.
Looking at Lazard’s Q4 8-K, it looks like advisory revenue up 27% in 2024, and total comp and benefits was 66% for the year, which is in line with all of the other boutiques people have mentioned on this chain. Obviously the funds are going somewhere, maybe being hogged by management or pay outs to unproductive MDs?
A massive slug of senior MDs and executives that are figureheads and don’t bring in revenue.
Orszag needs to get rid of a lot more of them
I figured. That has to be the only way they pay out at that level but comp for juniors way below peers.
nothing is more cancerous than senior figureheads who don’t produce but get paid like they do. I think that’s what has been leading to secular decline of the BBs and will lead to Goldman’s eventual downward slide as well
Pretty frustrating year in the group. They comp'd bonuses against bulge brackets.
