Lazard Exit Opportunities + Group Placement

Recently took a Lazard offer over a top BB and was wondering about where the bank stands when it comes to future opportunities. How do Lazard analysts perform in MFPE recruiting? Which groups are the strongest at the bank? Which groups have the best deal flow / culture?

Lazard’s exits are on par with any bank on the street. Place extremely well into top MFs. You’ll get looks from about anywhere you want coming out of Lazard in NY. Recent pay bump to $120k base + 80-100% bonus means they’ll finally have comp in line with other EBs. I think these factors along with Lazard having the greatest prestige/brand name of any EB puts it in the top tier of opportunities within banking. Personally would take (CVP/EVR/LAZ) over any other firm for the enhanced learning experience and exposure to clients and senior talent. Have also heard anecdotally that generally EB analysts come into PE far more prepared than their BB counterparts.

As far as groups go, Lazard is known to be extremely sweaty across groups. Don’t work there so honestly don’t know too much about the different groups.

EB is Paradise

How is Lazard’s comp relative to other firms after the shake up of salary bumps?

RX and HC come to mind. Industrials is good, especially for exits. FIG isn't probably as elite as when they had Gary Parr but still good. And legacy Consumer team was historically pretty strong.
