leaping from europe to the new world

I'm a Msc in Management student at a european school.

I have an american citizenship, so a Visa wouldn't be a problem. I am curious to know how feasible it is to try a land a job in wall street when a finish my master. I would like to work in IBD in a top boutique/top5 BB (give or take, these rankings are kind of retarded.)

My school is not that renowned in europe and i bet pretty much no one heard of us in the us, despite being ranked by the financial times as best master in the world this year.

How doable is trying to get into a BB in the us? And especially, how much of a disadvantage is not coming from a famous european institution? Will they trash my resume as soon as they realize they have no idea what my school is?

And, last but not least, is it possibile to apply to a FT job without having interned in the BB ever before?

Honestly I think it is going to be extremly difficult if you dont have any contacts in the mentioned banks in the US, despite your citizienship.

Recruitment in the US will obviously focus on US schools and might sometimes take people from Oxbridge, LSE or European MBA programs.

I would rather focus on getting an internship in Europe first, transform that into a FT offer and then rotate into the US at a later point.

Most people in Europe will come into FT recruitment with internships and its gonna be difficult to stand out without one let alone in the US.

I know people who did their SA stint in London and got FT offers, then asked to switch to the NY office (as GBB suggested). This is your best shot I believe.
