London - Analyst: Citi/BAML/CS vs. RTH/PWP
Hi all,
have offers from two of the BBs and one of the EBs above. Having a tough time deciding between them.
Any pros/cons you would consider?

Personally would go to Citi/BAML > PWP > CS.
Depends a bit on industry groups too I think and cultural fit. They’re all good. The difference between the BBs is product / industry focus (eg LevFin for CS/BAML) and deal size (Fewer large legacy deals for PWP, lots of midcaps for Roth).
If you want to exit ASAP, I think the BBs carry a better name especially outside finance
agree with the response above, but also worth considering your intentions. e.g., if you wish to climb up the ladder as quickly as possible within IB, also worth considering the fact that BBs usually promote after a 2 year period vs EBs which usually have a 3 year Analyst & Associate tenure before promoting. I'd also reemphasise importance of cultural fit as that's a key component as to how you'd actually rate your exp and could impact the quality of the work which you produce which has several ramifications i.e. your ranking, bonus, chances of exiting to buy-side (if you want to) etc. I've also applied to those firms you listed for FT roles as well, and I hope i'm soon in a position similar to yours, and I'd most likely pick the firm with the best blend of the factors above which suit my long-term goals
BofA>Citi>PWP>CS>RTH
I would say in London they are all similar level so would go based on the below. If you said NYC, it would be v. different.
Personally given those banks I think order of deciding priority is
1. how well do you fit with the culture
2. do I want to move to the US and or do I want to be a career banker
In London, Rothschild is very strong with a brand that everyone knows outside of finance - unlike pretty much every other EB - big deal volume so great exposure for juniors but lots of midcap. However, they are weak in the USA so if wanna go across the pond, BoA, Citi, CS will do you better for internal transfer, lateral etc.
Have heard mixed things on Citi's culture
They're all very strong places that will get you looks from top PE firms in London, exit opps might be a bit better at Citi, BAML vs the others but if you fit better with the culture elsewhere, I think that has more weight. The job is tough as it is, don't want to make it even more miserable than it needs to be
