Lying about GPA but backwards?

So I've been thinking recently about lying about my GPA and putting a lower GPA on my resume than it really is.

Before anyone says "WhY wOuLD YoU wAnT a LoWeR GpA?" I have my reasons, ok? I'm just not going to address them in this post.

Would this reflect badly on me when the bank found out? Would they rescind an offer? Would they be pleasantly surprised?

One part of a personal assessment is about culture, honesty and fit. Misrepresenting yourself is generally negative, regardless of whether you are decreasing or increasing your GPA.

If someone lied about their background, regardless of the direction, they misrepresented themselves even though they knew it was not the truth.
Depending on the firm this could even be a reason to disqualify an applicant or to let them go if already hired.

if you are so insecure about your GPA being too high, why don't you start taking hard CS/Applied math courses. Where you may actually learn something & it's unlikely that you can get an A.

I went to a target and I can assure you that almost all students at a target can maintain a 3.5+ in Econ without any issues (not counting the few with grade deflation).
