Lying about subject for spring week?

I'm studying a STEM degree at a target. My first year modules cover the exact same modules (including economics) as the joint Maths and Economics degree, and I am allowed to switch to that degree if I so choose.

JPM's spring week requires an economics/finance degree - can I lie about doing Maths and Economics (considering I could switch to it if I wanted) and get away with it?

If your university doesn't require you to declare a major yet, go for it. If they do, switch into it and switch back when you need to down the road. If you can't switch, don't lie. (Personally not super sure how universities operate outside of the US, so this might not be applicable)

In the uk you only study one subject lol. You apply to university for a specific degree programme and then only do the modules in that program and some electives. Your degree title generally stays the same.

Kids at my school lied all the time, especially since recruiting ended before sophomore year. I didn’t, not because I see myself sitting atop a moral high horse, but rather because I was nowhere cunning enough to even think of that.

Plenty of pre-law, computer science, finance, econ, math, physics, pre-med, engineering “octuple majors” get banking offers, converted internship, then graduated with a communications major.

Like others have said, depends on if / when your school requires you to declare a major. Mine was junior year and our diplomas didn’t even say the majors (i.e. only BA / BS / BBA)

"We welcome applications from candidates studying Economics, Finance, and related degrees".

If your course covers the same modules, then it is a "related degree". If you're worried, just put down some modules on your CV and the results.

What you should never do is lie about your degree, this will be flagged in background checks.

What is it you're doing anyway, MORSE?

Thanks for the response.

Maths with Data Science. It's at the LSE, so of course they through a couple economics modules in :)

I won't have any results at the time of applying, as applications open as soon as the year starts.
