M7 vs. Top 10 vs. UT/RICE

As the title suggests, When going for an MBA I know I should be targeting the top schools in the nation, but I want to be in energy IB in Houston long term and I cant help but think whats the point of going to top schools if I can just go to UT/RICE in Texas and land an offer with the top banks. Its cheaper and more accessible to recruiters in Texas, only thing that the M7 have is prestige over UT/RICE in terms of Houston Energy IB.

If you're sure you want to be in Energy, Rice and UT are perfect options. Large networks and strong reg, admittedly Rice is viewed as being pretty nerdy, but very smart.

If you aren't 100% positive, top ten/M7 is probably your best bet. Booth has a large network in Houston and still a strong rep elsewhere - I would definitely look into applying there.
