MSc Finance: Is it Worth it?
Hey guys, I wanted to know if you think a MSc in Finance at a top school (Oxford, LSE, etc) is worth it in the long term.
I went to a non-target but managed to get internships at BBs. I have a return offer to start next year at one major bank but I have been thinking if I should first do a MSc Finance at a top institution. I don’t know to what extent does a top Master’s degree benefit me in terms of future career prospects (for PE, hedge funds and so on).
Do you guys think I should do the Master’s program or just stick with my IB offer?
Stick with the offer. MSF is if you strike out, or for people who went to non-targets and didn't have a shot in the first place. The whole point of MSF is to get a job. You already got one so you're good. If you don't like the bank, just stick it out for a couple years and lateral.
