I just got same reply. They said they didn't make the decision yet. I am just wondering it is that hard to make, isn't it? If they are waiting for other IB, then they will issue the offer to see if their first choices are still available. hehe, just guess.

hey guys...i am having an interview with BlackRock next week. this isnt for summer analyst or something like that, its just for an internship with them. can u guys help me with any helpful info that i should know about the firm? can u guys also explain hows the culture at BlackRock? and what are the most important facets you should emphasize when answering: 'why investment management'? thanks a lot guys.

Yes, group is rather important. In fact, in my case they chose the group for us to interview with after signing up through school's recruiting system for general internship. Not sure how much my advice is worth since I've been waitlisted (for PMG), but anyway, yeah the culture is rather different than at most BB's. Seemed to still have a smaller feeling to it despite recently growing quite rapidly and they take pride in that rightfully so.

Your interview will largely depend on the interviewer and your background. I'm not from a finance background and thus my interviews were all fit essentially. Typical why this and that questions of course. Try to learn about what your group specifically does and be able to talk about how you feel you could be an asset to it and why your interests would make you a good fit. Also, have an idea of what your end goal is and if its not necessarily Asset Management, be able to explain then why BlackRock is still a good spot for you now. One of my interviewers who is a VP, encouraged that fact that I'd like to use BlackRock as sort of a stepping stone to learn more about finance and eventually land a trading spot with a BB.

Hope this helps!

BTW...If anyone has any info on whether offers have been sent out or not, please let me know. Going on over 3 weeks since superday now and still no word; they've left me little choice but to explore other options now, but would still like to know either way for sure.
