New hire getting all attention

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to vent a bit about a recent situation at my firm. We hired this new guy who, on paper, looks like a genius but has a pretty unconventional background. He hasn't gone through the usual steps we all had to endure – no B school, no official qualifications. Yet, he's already handling big cases and getting praise from higher-ups, especially from our senior partner, Harvey. It's incredibly frustrating to see someone bypass the grind we've all gone through.

Has anyone else faced a similar situation where a new hire just leaps ahead without earning it? How did you deal with it? It's demoralizing to see someone get handed opportunities that we’ve been working towards for years. Would love to hear your thoughts and advice on navigating this situation.

Thanks!

Sounds fake. How does new hire look like a genius if no qualifications or school credentials?

My guess is came to the interview with a briefcase full of weed and quoted a few movies

You sound bitter and jealous - why not just work on being good yourself and worry less about what others are doing

Surprised how many people didn't get the Suits reference
