Ok, so we managed to upgrade the site from Drupal 7-> Drupal 8. Shout out to my kick-ass development team.
This will help us bring the site into the next decade with a more modern back-end infrastructure (even though now it seems more like a nuisance with some bugs)...
So far, we know we have:
- Some social 1 click login issues
- @mentions look broken

There were some minor UI changes you may notice like the default monkey icon is now our new logo in grey, the anonymous posters have a larger Industry color icon for easier identification. Stuff like that. Near future a lot more UI improvements including main navigation, home page, etc... a lot more course announcements coming!

I was referring to below for point #3. Previously it showed the comment itself and not the thread topic, and we could see how many SBs we got for each comment:

I used to stay logged in the site when I accessed from my laptop. Now I gave to login every time I access it. Not a big deal, just a change that I noticed.

As soon as I close the page and come back it logs me out. Also brings me to my profile each time I log in rather than the front page

That happened to me as well. Actually, I didn't get any like at all when I tried to reset my password. I ended up having to try every password I could think of and eventually got in.

By the way, Chrome on my laptop now shows me that I can install the Wall Street Oasis app. I did that and now I have WSO installed on my laptop. That's neat. What exactly is the purpose of that? Also, the app has a blue bird with glasses as logo.
Page scrolling with the keyboard seems a bit hampered. When I hold the arrow it suddenly stops scrolling then it scrolls a lot faster.
on the to do list to check but we have a list of much more urgent cards, so likely a few weeks before we can tackle this...
the scroll should be MUCH better now (along with speed)

This was put off to the side since it's a very infrequently used feature by most members...if there is enough clamoring to get My Feed back we can make it happen, just may take us ~3-4 weeks before we are out from under this mountain of bugs...

The little notification bell button no longer displays that little drop down of recent SBs and Replies when i click, rather it directs to notification page. Is that feature retired?
yes, really just a performance decision....however, we will be showing new notification count there again soon so you know when there are new messages/notices

Yep it is, didn't see your initial comment. I cleared my cache, etc., even re-uploaded my avatar image twice (regular and cropped into a circle) and it's still happening.
Occurs on desktop (Chrome), mobile (Chrome), and the app. All look the same.
I've taken screenshots here. I've also included the 2 images of what my avatar should look like (cropped and un-cropped).

Have seen several issues, especially in mobile
- on mobile, probably the worst one is that where there should be a comment, there will be an advertisement instead. So two people may be discussing something and replying to eachother, but I miss out on what one of them says because an ad has taken its place. reached out to support but still doesn't appear to be fixed
- on mobile, sometimes I'll click a link to something that I guess isn't available for mobile (company interview insight, job posting, essentially anything that's not a thread) and I'll get an error message and will have to log back in which is super annoying
- on mobile, if I click into a thread with like 150 comments spread across two pages, I only see the yellow boxes showing what comments are new on page one, when i click the next page or page after there are no more yellow comments and it's not easily to tell which I've read / which I haven't
Think these are the major ones... but if I remember anymore will let you know

Certain threads aren’t actually quoting, for me they are showing (/quote text is verbatim) /quote “Thing quoted” /quote “Response to quote”
I also get quotes and "@" in the middle of people's job descriptions

I don’t know if this is intentional, but on the app, the IB Course advert will completely replace a random post on a thread. You can’t see the post it replaces at all, and it’s really annoying because if someone made a reply to that post, you’ve lost all the context.

This is pretty minor but on some comments the text seems to be formatted differently from others, the font seems darker and maybe has smaller spaces than other posts.

Also, for DMs Idk if this is a bug or what, but before the upgrade, the chat was divided into multiple pages. Now, its one giant page, which can be a bit irritating because I have to scroll all the way down (for people I speak to a lot).
yeah, not a bug - completely different animal, but we can make a UI improvement probably to anchor it to the latest messages instead of forcing user to scroll... wasn't an option for us to stick with threaded messages on PM. there was no update from D7 -> D8 for the PM module.

we're already drowning and have about 5 critical bugs, 20 high priority and about 130 others... so I think we're good ;)
Things are getting better but performance, scrolling is still a big problem -- some members still having issues with login/social login, subscriptions for threads still not live (tomorrow hopefully), resetting pw, saving new pw or any update to profile (fixed today), company database filtering issues, UX/UI issues across desktop, mobile site and app... then we have a huge backlog of other issues that members can't see like how our system works in the back end support for our students in the LMS. support team having to do more manual stuff as some of the automated tie ins with zendesk broke.
varnish caching/warm up script for logged out users is apparently not working either so the list of things to fix is enormous... we knew this was coming, but I'd be lying if I didn't say it has been worse than expected.
All of these are not going to get fixed overnight and some of them are actually very tough because they aren't easy to replicate (the caching layers alone on the site are very complex to try and keep performance snappy)...but I do know we'll keep pushing and that every week there will be less and less issues.
This was BY FAR the biggest migration we have done ever in our 14 years (took over 9 months) and it was a nightmare....but I believe it will pay dividends in 2021-2025 as we are able to introduce new features on a much more modern platform.

App needs some work imo - whenever I find a thread online it’ll direct me to the app only for it to lose the thread once the app starts up. The app also crashes quite a bit
this should be fixed now...please let me know if not! also, if you can share what you are doing when you have a crash that would be immensely helpful so we can try to recreate it... also, we are bringing on board a full-time QA person to help us spot all these bugs faster!
Also, would it be possible to have a feature where we can access our courses on mobile? Bought the IB interview prep guide and can't access through mobile (which I prefer to use) - just an idea
Why can't we send pm/dms on the app?
That was one of the reasons why we were doing this update, it was a huge pain for adding the new features to the app.
We didn't have the messages, company db and many more things which we can add now.
I think the app is going to get a lot of new updates after we deal with the all bugs posted here.
Keep on getting logged out and search results are a little inaccurate
you're getting logged out still? might look logged out when you run a search because there is a caching issue in upper right block when you search and we're working on getting the settings back on solr. thanks
Lot of posts about the search function already, I would add that the tagging feature in posts could use some improvement as well. I think maybe just cleaning up the tags would go a long way.
The Quote function seems hit or miss. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. (Chrome)

When I click on a notification it usually brings me to the thread but logs me out so I can't see every comment. I have to log back in and then manually find the thread.
