Sure they do....I interned with them a few summers ago, and the entire summer intern class then (including ib, research, sales & trading) was hundreds of students. I highly doubt they've done away with all internships since then
S&T - 70ish IB - No idea Research - No idea
JPM is just fucking selective...
my current roommate is doing an internship w JPM...
A very good friend of mine interned and then got a job with them. They hire loads of interns.
They don't get talked about much on this board because over the last few years they didn't hire all that much from outside of their internship classes. They have comparable numbers of interns to other banks.
ASSET MANAGEMENT - 138 interns.
im one of em.
its REALLY hard to get into jpm without a summer position.
I was wondering if any of you have intern for the division of wealth management of JP Morgan Securites in New York (277 park ave). how was the experience and anything else you can tell would be helpful.
I'm am going to intern at JPM IBD this fall (in London). As craigmcdermott and nutsaboutWS point out, their intern and analyst classes are comparable to those of other major banks but what makes JPM special is that they hire almost exclusively from their intern classes.
so by extension, does that mean that they give FT offers out to a larger percentage of the intern pool? Also, does this mean that the SA process is more grueling, since they expect the interns they hire to be top talent worthy to become analysts after their 10 month stint?
JPM is the only bank out of all the elite boutiques or BB's that does not recruit FT at my school.
They hire almost exclusively from their intern class (>80% I believe) and stick to their target schools.
what are their target schools? they don't have an OCR schedule online at the moment.
Harvard and Wharton are both on the list
JP Morgan does have internships - in all units. They pay well and lead to full time jobs for sure. - http://www.internshipking.com/jp-morgan-internship

JPM selects their candidates from their previous intern pool first then the rest are picked from other applicants. But like everybody said they do hire alot.
Talking with a recruiter, JPM NYC SA class this year should be ~120-130 IBD ~70 S&T ~15 Research/Risk (Forgot which one.) This was a couple weeks ago, so my memory could be a little off.
From experience, yes they do. It's a very, very large bank my friend.
I just got an offer from JPM. So they must not be that selective and I am chinese lmao.
Um, I don't know how things run for you guys south of the border but I'd say being chinese is an advantage here.
why would it be an advantage? say in USA, New York office or UK, London office?
if anything, i think it's a disadvantage. i think German/French/Spanish/Arabic would be more of an advantage anyday.
They hire a huge class - they run two separate waves of training, though that does include the London/overseas offices as well. As others have said, they hire mostly from their intern class, but I would think every BB does, assuming they can get a high number to accept.
Got an internship in IBD in London. According to the xls I received, we are only 43 interns
Whats the acceptance rate of JPMs Back office intern pool? I interviewed for internal Audit, Compliance, and Operations. Didn't get offers. What is the acceptance rate and what are they looking for.
In a general sense much much much less competitive because its not front office, but for those positions they generally recruit at semi-targets or top state schools so those positions a lot of times pull from a entirely different breed of undergrads. But when the name JP Morgan comes up on a state school OCR portal tons of finance majors that have no clue what the difference between FO/BO is apply. The info session just at my school for ops must've had over 80-100 people at it
