Non-Target Hustle: Breaking Into IBD with Big 4 Internship Experience

So I’m going into my final year at a non-target uni in Scotland (think Glasgow, Edinburgh, Strathclyde). Here’s my situation: I don’t have any IB experience (yeah, I know…), but I did land a Big 4 internship (Advisory) over the summer.

I’ve spent the past few months networking like crazy, even managed to grab some coffee chats with a few MDs at EBs and connected with recruiters at a few BBs. But now, as recruiting season’s kicking off, I’m starting to wonder… have I missed the boat on breaking into IB? I’ve put in an incredible amount of effort, dedicating countless hours to refining my skills, networking, and doing everything I can to break into IB.

Would love to hear any thoughts or advice from anyone who’s been in a similar spot. Do I still have a chance?
