Non-Target Preparing for SA 2027
Hello all, I am currently a rising sophomore at a non target school looking to land a SA role for 2027. Currently, I have a 4.0 along with the standard extracurriculars (analyst in Student Investment fund, leadership in investment banking club). I am now interning at a boutique investment bank and have a second internship on the buy-side lined up for the upcoming fall. Does this resume put me in a position to be competitive in interview processes?
I am also now starting technical interview prep, but am wondering when is best to start the formal networking process? Or am I already behind on networking/interview prep?
I would greatly appreciate any and all guidance for the upcoming fall/winter as I understand it is quite the grind trying to land a SA role coming from a non-target.
To position yourself competitively for a Summer Analyst (SA) 2027 role as a non-target student, here's what you need to know based on the most helpful WSO content:

Final Thoughts
Your current trajectory is strong, but the grind for SA roles from a non-target is intense. Focus on networking aggressively, refining your technical skills, and leveraging your internships to stand out. As WSO threads emphasize, persistence and preparation are key to breaking into investment banking from a non-target background. Keep pushing, and you'll be in a competitive position for SA 2027.
