Well I can’t turn back time. I’m simply asking what’s the best way to proceed. I don’t want to leave them thinking I don’t have any financial modeling experience when I do from my classes.

I’m saying just send a standard email saying thanks not covering for your modeling experience. If someone sent it to me i would interpret it as them lying or making it up to move forward. But you can do what you feel is best.

What I’m wondering is.... if a person genuinely does have modeling experience from coursework and is interested in moving forward at this smaller bank known to care about yield, would they be silly to not make it known and correct themselves about having experience?

Yes you should have made it known in the first round. But admittedly you said you can’t go back. If you get invited to R2 mention it. And make sure you mention it at the other banks you interview with
