NYC Summer 26 Housing - looking for roommates + suggestion

I'm interning at Morgan Stanley in one of their offices near Time Square. June 1 - Aug 8, but want to move in a few days early.

Looking for places to stay walking distance to Time Square if anyone has any suggestions or if anyone wants to join in and find a 2bed place. Budget $2500/month

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some suggestions for your NYC summer housing near Times Square:

  1. Murray Hill / Gramercy: These neighborhoods are popular among young professionals and interns working in Midtown offices. Prices for a 2-bedroom apartment can range from $2,000 to $3,000 per person if you plan to live by yourself or $1,500 to $2,250 per person with roommates. Nightlife is vibrant, and the area is within walking distance or a short commute to Times Square.

  2. Long Island City (LIC): Located in Queens, LIC is just 1-2 train stops from Midtown. While nightlife in LIC isn't as lively, its proximity to the city makes it a convenient option. Prices here are generally lower than Manhattan, but Hunter's Point in LIC can be pricier due to its upscale vibe.

  3. Battery Park City / FiDi: If you're open to a slightly longer commute, these areas are quieter and offer a more relaxed environment. They are popular among interns and professionals working downtown.

  4. Subletting or AirBnB: Many interns opt for sublets or AirBnBs in these areas. This can be a flexible option, especially if you're looking to move in a few days early.

If you're looking for roommates, you might want to start a thread or join existing ones on platforms like Wall Street Oasis or other housing forums. Many interns post their housing needs and budgets to find compatible roommates.
