NYU Summer Housing

I'm looking for some advice from those of you that have already spent your time in the NYU dorms over a summer. I'll be interning at a boutique this summer where I'll be paid but not nearly as much as the BB summer analysts get paid. I was looking at the non-air-conditioned dorms and wondering if any of you have lived there and what your experience was? I was looking at these because my pay would cover the dorms, the meal plan, and some extra money to go explore New York. It is my Sophomore summer so I'll always have next summer to get a BB internship and pay a little more for a nicer spot. Do you all think it's worth it to pay less for no AC and more spending money or pay more for no spending money but have AC?

I haven't lived there but know people who studied at NYU that did. Everyone was complaining about it. However it wouldn't be worth spending all your money on a place that has AC if it means you can't afford to go out. Being broke in NYC is not fun at all.
