Office Dynamics

Hello everyone,

I started interning at a small IB boutique and I have somewhat of an understanding of office dynamics at this level. My question is for the people at bigger banks is how would you quantify your interactions with other members of the team. That sounds weird so let me give an example: "as an analyst I work 40% of the time with other analysts 30% with associates..." Obviously it doesn't have to be accurate but I understand that in these offices there are very clear power dynamics and would like to know your exposure to senior members

Hi monkeytomd, any of these threads helpful:

I work at a boutique RIA. Boutique as in there are two RIA partners and that is it. We work independently and both do things like answer phones and take out the trash.

Half the time we never see each other unless to discuss business development. We were going to hire a secretary, but then COVIS-19 hit.

I worked at a bigger bank before and hated the hierarchy of it. The SVP thought they were too good to pick up the phones for clients. I cannot stand that type of arrogant, hence my current situation. Stay boutique.
