online IBD applications from ivy school

I'm a senior at an ivy semi-target/target school, but for whatever reason (too early in the recruiting season, nobody likes my school, the recruiting website sucks) there are a decent amount of banks that have NOT placed recruiting ads on our school recruiting website - as of now there are maybe only 8 banks that have recruiting ads, of which only 2 are BBs. As a result, I've been looking to apply to a lot of major boutiques and MM investment banks through their website and by e-mailing the recruiters, however..... whenever I apply online or e-mail somebody my resume and cover letter, I just get this feeling like it's all getting swallowed into a black hole and I'm never going to hear back from any of those people since there's just too many people doing the same thing. Am I correct in thinking this? My resume is decent - I have a good GPA at an ivy and this past summer I interned at a regional MM investment bank. But I'm concerned that this won't really matter when the single recruiter is looking through a stack of 5,000 resumes. thoughts?
