opinions on track

Hey everyone!

Im currently a rising junior in quantitative finance and management information systems with an internship this summer within the mergers and acquisitions team
Ive already started applying for summer 2023 internships, do you guys reckon I have a decent chance at scoring an interview?

I really want to experience the consulting/IB world and feel that a name could get me through the door for my 2023 internship. Also, does anyone know of any reputable firms that are currently still open for applications?

Thanks for your opinions and help!

Great background. Unfortunately you started applying late. Not much left aside from a few fringe European banks. If I were you I would definitely work your ass off this summer at Uber and try to get a return for your junior summer. Then leverage your M&A experience to place at a great bank ft.

Agree with above - Uber will help a bit, but realistically you are months late. Most banks are done, and the few still left recruiting it's going to be quite late to start networking. If you are dead set on IB next summer, start hitting up the "who is still interviewing?" type threads on here and network your ass off.

Consulting may still be going, no idea what their recruitment timing is.

Get a return offer for next summer, take it if you have nothing by then, and hit the trail hard for FT recruiting (look up networking on here, but you need to be sending a lot of emails/doing phone chats with people next spring and summer, just applying online won't get you anywhere). 2 summers of Uber M&A will help, and you can say you missed IB recruiting instead of you tried and struck out.
