Opportunity to professionalize the business broker model

I have been in LMM investment banking doing sell-side M&A advisory work for a while. And one thing I've come to notice is that the M&A advisory and lower middle market investment banking space is very crowded.  Multiple parties pitching sell-side mandates that are still on the smaller side ($20M - $30M).  Which obviously, makes deal origination challenging.  And what I find interesting is that the SMB sector and the very bottom of the lower middle market is somewhat underserved.  It seems you have a lot of business brokers representing companies that will sell for $5M - $10M and typically have a less professional and polished approach than a true lower middle market investment bank.  And because of that I think there's real opportunity to disrupt that end of the market by bringing an investment banking light approach to SMB deals.  I would love to get people's thoughts on this.  What do you all think?
