Outlook for Evercore NYC?

Does anyone know anything about how the Evercore NYC office is going to be changing over the coming 12 months or even longer-term in a few years? Actively recruiting, but don't have on-campus recruitment at Evercore & am curious as I saw someone post a similar post but for Jefferies earlier today. How do they stack up compared to Moelis and the other independent advisors?

Definitely becoming more institutionalized and certain aspects of the junior experience will be impacted negatively as a result, e.g. less lax expense policies, certain teams are becoming slightly more bloated, etc.

The firm now only benchmarks itself against GS/MS/CVP/Moelis, though that's a good thing currently because those firms have all paid great bonuses (even GS!).

Regarding exits, Evercore is either number 1 or at least in top 3 for MF/UMM exits, and that's primarily the reason why people join the firm at the analyst level. Looking at the current second year class, the caliber and distribution of exits across the board is unmatched by peer firms.

Are there better places to be as a junior? Definitely; there are individual experiences I've heard at other firms that seem to be great. However, Evercore probably offers the most consistent, high-caliber experience you could get in banking right out of college.

Confirmed. Anyone in the class that wanted a job like that got one.

Edit: sample size 60

24 solid placements (probably a couple more) and this doesn’t include 5+ that have left for HFs and 5+ that have left for corp dev/startup positions

Others include people that didn’t want to go large-cap in the first place and if you didn’t get something with Evercore’s brand as an average candidate coming from the firm then it most likely wasn’t the brand’s fault lol
