PE or Commercial Lending Internship

Hey everyone,

Would really appreciate some advice here.

I’m deciding between two internship options for this summer and trying to figure out which will be more valuable for recruiting (IB). Current Freshman, by the way.

Option 1: PE-style / search-type role

  • Researching industries (energy, industrials, infrastructure)
  • Breaking into sub-industries and building investment theses
  • Identifying and evaluating companies
  • Building target lists and doing outreach to business owners
  • Visiting companies and speaking directly with owners/operators

Option 2:

Which one seems more worthwhile?
