Depends… when you first start out you’ll be on pitches until you win one - then staffed. From there if you do good directors / VPs will start to pull you onto other deals / pitches.
Currently on multiple deals and no pitches. I’ve had it when I was an analyst where I was on multiple pitches for a few months, as we weren’t winning them.
I would say my overall hours spent in IB has been 80/20 deal to pitch.

Was on 100% marketing for 2 months then got staffed on 2 sell-sides which require all my capacity so now 100% deal execution.

At UBS it feels like 99% pitching
