Please HELP me!

Hello,

As I’m sure most of you know - the BB recruiting for 3rd year summer internship starts at mid 2nd year.
What about Qatalyst partners
What about the timeline of EB in general?

How to increase my chances of getting in as a student from an international tech hub outside the US with a green card to get in terms of experience, extracurriculars, any certifications/ associations, etc… (because target / non target is not really relevant - I’m an undergrad in the top business school in my country)

Also, what would be better - catalyst or BB TMT

Kind regards.

Plse frame ur q properly.. I can’t understand shit…
Like do you have a GC or you want one thru a bank?

There's a million posts on here about IB recruiting timelines and resources on applying did you look through the forum or did you randomly just post this. Also why are you asking about Qatalyst vs BB TMT did you already get an offer? If not, why are you worried about that decision? I would just focus on a connecting with your alumni network and reviewing the technical resources on here for interviews. Also look for sophomore experience if that is still recruiting.

You're right - I didn't look for the answers in previous posts. I'll go ahead and do it.
Didn't understand your remark on sophomore experience...
I'm currently a freshman - did you assume that I'm a Freshman / sophomore ?

Just trying to understand better how things work...  That's why I'm asking so many questions that might seem random.
Thanks for the comment.

Qatalyst should be a better experience than BB TMT (GS/MS) though you should be quite happy with either :) for a firm like Qatalyst once you get past the resume screen you need to answer every technical question correct or they’ll pick one of many other applicants who have their technicals down to a T. Would recommend a site like overlevered Dot com for realistic interview questions. Good luck and feel free to PM me about the Q first round

I don’t know why everyone here is making it sound so rosy and easy. While it’s great that you have the GC, it doesn’t matter since you didn’t go to college in the US. You will basically have no shot at any top firm since you will be considered non target. If you’re talking about roles outside of the US then it will be different.

Top programs outside of the US, like HEC, can probably place at a place like HL at best, and that’s a stretch already imo

I thought this was a troll post until I saw your responses. This is like asking which is better, being president of the US or working as a NASA physicist. Qatalyst hires like 3 people per year across all levels. Don’t go to a top 8 US undergrad? You’re not getting hired. GS TMT / MS Tech are among the most competitive groups on the street. If you’re asking this uninformed of questions, it shows that you haven’t put in the effort to learn anything about the recruitment process, so your chances so far aren’t good. Find an IB job in your country or try to land a finance role in the US if you really want to move.

Appreciate your comment.
So let's assume you're right and I have no chance to land a top tech IB role...
What could be the best move going foreword if I am interested in Tech (from business perspective, not coding) and Tech Investing?
I'm not locked on IB itself... I just think it's a great way to see a lot of different tech companies in the beginning of your career...

You won't be in a position to decide Qatalyst vs BB TMT. Focus on getting any finance internship in the US first.
