Politics undergrad into IB

Hi all. I'm currently a second year Politics student at a target university in the UK and am looking at a career in finance. However, the most obvious hurdle in regards to a career in IB is my choice of undergrad. Despite choosing some finance and accounting modules this year, I still appreciate the pathway into IB will be much more difficult than if I was studying Economics, for example, or even impossible altogether? What would the pathway look like from here, and what further qualifications should I think about to facilitate this? Are there any other areas within finance as a category I should focus on instead? Going into second year, what can I do at this present moment or in the upcoming months? Thanks!

Remember, Target University >> Course studied

Politics is more than good enough to apply - doubt you'll be able to do any actual Finance / Accounting modules, but if possible try do some from the Economics department (if there's a political economy or even an intro economics module)
