Polyglots in IB
Dear WSO,
I'm about to enroll at a Spanish target university for an undergraduate degree. One of the reasons I chose to go there is the opportunity to learn Spanish on an advanced level. I was also lucky enough to be born bilingual and picked up a language at school.
Considering my study of Spanish will go well and I will be fluent (or almost fluent) at it by the time I graduate, I will speak 5 languages fluently: Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, English and Spanish.
My question is: how useful is that for IB? What do you think is the best way to make use of my languages (considering I don't mind working, say, in Russia)? Do you know any stories of polyglots in IB? Are multilinguals favored during recruitment in any way?
Will be useful, a lot of senior bankers speak more than 1 languages.
It will be very useful to land roles outside of the typical banking locations (nyc, london). If you are willing to work in Russia or Spain, this is excellent.
