Haven't heard about StepStone reputationally in the private debt space, but overall if it's a legit internship, you would easily be able to spin that into a potential Lev Fin / DCM role or just speak to debt markets in general which would be helpful in an IB interview. F100 corporate finance gigs are generally a mixed bag and your experience there could be anything from FPA / Treasury / Corp Dev / etc. Unless it is directly Corp Dev, I'd pass on it in.

Are you a freshman or a sophomore? If so, I think either one would put you in a great place for IB recruiting but I would consider taking the private debt role because it sounds a lot more interesting and you don't really need to tell anyone it was part-time when you're recruiting for IB for junior summer-- plus you'll have more time to chill over the summer. If this is for your junior summer but you still plan on recruiting for FT I would almost still consider private debt but go for corp fin if you'd be satisfied getting a return offer there because not having to recruit senior year will eliminate a lot of stress.
