Professionalism and Maintaining Good Relationship - feel Free to Proviee Svice

Hey guys,

Before I dive in, just want to say this post may be helpful to those entering workforce or becoming full time in not just banking but any other industries that involve team projects or assignments. This past internship, had the chance to work with a great group of collaborative, smart and driven people and wanted to get an opinion on a few things. I realized that one of the toughest things was trying not to get to close to people I closely work with so that it doesn’t affect performance or that you are all of sudden straying away from professionalism. To give an example, I realized that one of the junior interns (I am a sophomore intern) tried to keep tossing over work to me since we began to get close although he was told to start and submit the final work. He doesn’t do it on purpose but gets comfortable with it and not sure how to go about this during my next internships and in workforce in general. At the same time, want to ask in general how you guys draw that line between becoming too close and not so that you can still be the man holding power at the end. I keep helping because I dont want to leave a bad impression on anyone else and dont want it to hunt me back later but at the same time I feel that there are ways for me to better balance my work relationships with people. Feel free to comment and ask if I was not specific enough.

Thanks as always.
