PwC Transaction Services is part of the firm's Advisory practice, while E&Y's TAS group is the equivalent of PwC's Advisory practice. That is to say you really need to tell us what specific group within E&Y's TAS practice are you given an offer? There are many different areas, such as Transaction Support (sounds similar to PwC's Transaction Services), Valuation, etc.

TobleronePwC Transaction Services is part of the firm's Advisory practice,.

It actually switches every so often and is currenlty in in the assurance practice, though a couple of divisions are in advisory.

I would take the EY assuming comp is the same or better. Nothing bad to say about PwC but my experience in dealing with both firms is that the guys at EY have a much better expereince overall. Good luck.

For EY, it's the valuation group under Transaction Advisory Services. For PwC, it's just the Transaction Services group which includes Valuation and Accounting Advisory.

Does that make a difference?

Thanks in advance!

To Jaymo : Yes they offer undergraduate internships in the U.S.

So considering that this is for FT offer, here is my analysis

Both are well recognized no matter what. PwC has more of the global presence and slightly higher reputation in Asia. Considering that you would like to get international experience and would like to work on some potential deals in Asia or have the opportunity to be placed there once you become more senior, PwC is the better choice.

However, culture is a very important factor, E&Y has been known to having a friendly culture. Most important thing is to choose the group you feel more comfortable working with, these are the people that you will end up seeing more then your family and friends from day to day so make the best of it. The second decision factor should be where you would like to take your career path 3-5 years down the road, 10 years is too far out and no one knows.

I know an associate, and ex-associate and MD's in PwC TS. Also know an ex-associate at EY Dallas. PM me for details.

I really enjoyed the guys from PwC. They are really down to Earth, and easily approachable, although this may have been office specific...
