Quitting internship early?

Hello need some advice here

Am a junior currently. I am due to start a 6 month long internship next year (1H) with a MM bank, have already signed the contract and finalized the offer details. However, I just got an offer for a BB SA next summer. The issue is, the MM internship duration lasts up till July which is beyond the start date for the BB SA. I have spoken to HR at the MM bank and they have indicated that it is not possible for me to shift my start and end dates.

Not sure if this is a point to consider but there is also very low chance of a FT offer at the MM bank. Would it be a dick move to accept the BB offer and quit early in my MM stint (about 1-2 months early) or should I raise this to HR and potentially be seen as reneging? Ideally I want to do this in a way that burns the least bridges as possible

I would just be honest about your other offer and let them know you’d love to be able to make this work, but if they can’t change the dates for you then I’d renege. Don’t need to be specific about your SA offer for privacy. It’s better in my opinion to give a kid on the waitlist your spot instead of not holding to your commitment for the entire 6 months. That being said, think about why you want the BB instead of the MM. A 6 month MM internship might be more fruitful than an SA at a BB if deal flow is good, if it’s an upper tier MM, and you like the team you’re assigned to. Interested to hear why you think FT offer isn’t a good possibility as well.
