Recruiting for Summmer 2025, FT 2026

Just started at a semi-target MSF. Am fucked for SA2025, just starting now. I know the BBs, EBs, MMs finished in H1 2024 but my ugrad GPA was so bad I wouldn't have been able to make it past the AI resume screen much less R1. Now I have a 4.0 in hand and a brand name. How can I make best use of this situation? I don't want to be caught off guard and out of the loop for FT 2026 recruiting. What might the timeline look like? I have already started reaching out to connect with alumni but building the network will take some time.

Network your ass off. Most places are done but will have a slot or two open up as M&A is increasing. You’ll have a better shot at EB’s. I recommend trying any finance roles you can find, and try to lateral full time 26 as that is a much more defined timeline (network all summer and steal a seat from the summer analysts who don’t get the offer - interviews start 2nd week of August at BB’s)

Will do. I’m keeping my options open to offcycle at small boutiques as well, will take anything with decent deal flow and visibility at this point. For ft, how do you know that interviews start 2nd week of August? How can I be more informed about recruiting timelines for IB, pe?

Sorry never responded to this. The only way to know when interviews start for banks is by networking and asking. They won’t have exact dates but they’ll have rough timelines when you talk to them. You can easily prepare now for those full time interviews if you’re that serious about IB. Good luck man
