(Serious Post) Insecurities

Hi! From a target school and will be a summer analyst at a mid-tier IB (think Mizuho, BNP, Nomura). I'm very glad to have the offer, but seeing all of my classmates that going to top-tier BB/EB firms makes me wonder if this isn't 'good enough.' I had good grades and other interviews through the process, but I figured out my interest a little late and took the first offer I got out of gratitude.

I know that I can re-recruit for full-time, but do other people feel, or have felt, insecure about their firm? I know that it's stupid to put too much thought into it, but sincerely curious about the experiences of other people who may have been in the same shoes.

Everyone on WSO posts about GS/MS/JP/Qatalyst, but I feel like this might be a little more relevant to most of the people on the site... Thank you!

And I'm sure people going to GS/MS are looking at the people going to Blackstone for the summer. Comparison is the thief of joy. Be proud of what you've accomplished and look towards the future.

To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering.

Nah, you did well. The job market only continues to get more difficult for new grads gunning for high tier careers.

A lot of recruiting comes down to timing/patience/luck/networking, when you consider those factors need to align it's a blessed position to be in to have an offer. Enjoy the rest of your school year!
