Shoul I be thinking about transfering?

Hello, Although I have surfed this forum before, but this is my first time posting. I'm a second year student currently studying for a BBA degree at University of Toronto. I heard from a lot of my friends that U of T isn't really a great place for I-banking. I considered transferring to Ivey (at UWO), but I screwed up my GPA during the first year. According to last 2 years' CGAP, I will not be that competitive with other Ivey applicants. Now I'm not sure what I should do. Should I finish my degree at University of Toronto (currently thinking about studying finance) or should I apply for Ivey in my third year or probably the fourth year? And also are there any other alternatives that I can look into?

Your inputs would be greatly appreciated! MD

You should still network heavily and gain relevant internships. In terms of transferring, it could not hurt to give it a shot. If you don't get in you can apply next year. Also, you should know that most schools have a 2 year on campus requirement to graduate so its not like you can transfer there in your fourth year and graduate on time.

^ This is true. I have a friend who transferred into Ivey in third year and then had to start from their third year all over again. This won't be much of a problem for you becasue Ivey only does 2 years of business so you should have a defintie leg up on ther candidates. U of T doesn't do all that poorly though. I defiantely saw a lot of students across the different firms when I was recruiting.
