Should I apply to FT roles before or after I pass the SIE so it's on my Resume

Hey guys, I am currently a consulting intern right now, but I want to switch to IB (ECM or M/A preferred). Planning to take the SIE at the end of August, and I know some FT recruiting has begun. Should I apply after I pass, so I can put it on my resume, or should I apply now and say something to the bit of SIE (pending) under my certifications section?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, you should apply now and include the SIE as "pending" under your certifications section. FT recruiting often operates on a rolling basis, meaning earlier applications can give you a better chance of securing interviews before positions fill up. Waiting until after you pass the SIE could result in missed opportunities, especially since FT recruiting has already started.

Additionally, highlighting that you're actively working toward the SIE demonstrates initiative and commitment to transitioning into IB. You can always update your resume and inform recruiters once you've passed the exam.
