Should I delay my grad to recruit for IB

Hi guys! I'm in a sticky situation right now I initially chose a hard major at a hardo school and my GPA was pretty low freshman year (below 3). It was actually pretty bad and not something you can just grind so I kinda dumped my IB prospects out the window until sophomore year, where I started figuring my shit out and got better grades and stuff. During that time I rethought about doing IB since I don't want to work in my major's industry but wasn't sure if I could actually get better grades so I didn't do any networking. Do you think delaying my grad would look sus or is it a good idea? Also how would I explain it to people, especially my mentors and clubs and stuff and some of my finance club friends because they all think I'm hella smart because of said major and they're shocked I'm not doing IB anymore. How important would a good internship this summer be and how do I lock in and get one? Please give me some advice I'm just pretty lost and unsure about everything
