Situational Judgement Test - Any hidden tricks?
Keep getting rejected by those SJTs. Is there a trick? I realize theres always the same fabric behind these questions:
For me I always went with my gut feeling (what I would actually do ) which was this:
-
Only ever ask manager as last resort, try to ask other colleagues or learn myself when I have a task which I do not fully understand
-
Always willing to help colleagues, provided possible, but never dismiss or ignore
-
Always willing to share suggestions to improve certain things, be proactive
-
If client unhappy or urgent, take risk and engage if everyone else is absent
-
Prioritize client deadlines, even if there is a slight risk that some stuff is inaccurate
-
If any errors are spotted by me, fix and notify relevant stakeholders (incl. client, if they received a report which was wrong) immediately
-
Always find a way to implement at least some suggestions by seniors, but never at the expense of the deadline
-
Absolutely obey company regulations / rules
Am I just not suited for IB? What needs to change? Suggestions thx alot
The general rule "don't be extreme", unless it's related to helping clients or complying with rules
One thing that stands out from your responses is that perhaps you might want to adhere a bit better to the chain of command? (i.e. informing somebody more senior in the team before informing a client)
Another thing is that it is always good to ask questions - proactively, and not just as a last resort
