oops let me also clarify that this is regarding summer 2025. would like to know if it's too late by now (only recently-ish decided i wanted to pursue a career in banking)

Based on the most helpful WSO content, sophomore diversity programs in investment banking are designed to promote inclusivity and provide early exposure to the industry for underrepresented groups. These programs typically include workshops, networking opportunities, and may lead to internships. Here’s a breakdown of some key programs and their usual timelines:

  1. Goldman Sachs Emerging Leaders Series: This program targets sophomores and usually opens applications in the spring. It's highly competitive and acts as a feeder for their sophomore internships.

  2. Morgan Stanley Freshman Enhancement Program: Although aimed at freshmen, it's worth noting that this program fills many of the sophomore positions. Applications also typically open in the spring.

  3. Citi Freshman Discovery Diversity Program: This program is another excellent opportunity for early exposure and resume building, targeting freshmen but relevant for planning ahead as a sophomore.

  4. Deutsche Bank – DB Achieve Program: This is a sophomore summer analyst program with applications usually due in the fall of the previous year.

  5. J.P. Morgan – CIB Launching Leaders Program: This program targets sophomores among other groups and has a fall application deadline.

If you are an incoming sophomore and haven't applied yet, you might find that many programs have closed their applications as they often require early application in the fall or spring of the previous academic year. However, it's crucial to check each program's specific deadlines and requirements on their official websites or through your school’s career services. Also, keep an eye out for any new programs or changes in application timelines due to varying circumstances each year.

Not sure about diversity programs for summer 2025 since most of recruiting has wrapped up now and you really only intern as a junior, but if you're going to be a junior/rising senior for SA 2026, there will be diversity recruiting programs that occur in late winter/early spring of your sophomore year (Around February). These usually directly lead to first round interviews or superdays for SA 2026

feel free to ask more questions

Not entirely sure how soph programs are running this year but — MS has been open for a while (idk if they’re still taking apps), idk about BofA but last year they opened apps in march and ran process in late july, GS runs process like early fall (august/september), RBC should be open rn too. Again, like I said, I’m not too sure — this is just what I remember from when I recruited for the sophomore programs last year. There’s a few other banks that run smaller soph programs but I don’t have a lot of insight — I know a guy doing JPM Chicago, someone did Baird Chicago last year — so just keep an eye out, definitely not closed yet
