Stifel Layoffs and Calgary Office Closure
Hearing through the grapevine that Stifel has closed its Calgary office and also conducted layoffs across Canada. Hearing 50+ laid off. Anybody have additional color they can share?

Not surprised if true, y/y revenues for Canada segment went down almost 50% in Q1 while every other region improved/stable y/y

IB acquisitions are so weird - it makes way more sense to just hire the individuals. First Energy was acquired for $100M by GMP way back, and now Stifel is just shutting the whole thing down. I’m not saying they are wrong as the environment has changed, but wow. Super sad to see
