STUDENT PLEASE HELP!!

Sadly my previous account got blocked. I had no idea we couldn’t swear here. So I’m posting my question again. Would really appreciate all the help!!

1. Would it be possible for someone to study in the UK (Kings College London) but get an investment banking job in the US at JP Morgan or GS or possibly transfer there, specifically NYC?

2. if not through undergraduate than what about getting a postgrad degree from a US uni? Would I be able to get a job in NYC then?
3. What’s the most lucrative financial job? IB, hedge fund, etc

4. What’s the financial ( or more specifically in investment banking) equivalent of HARVEY SPECTRE FROM SUITS?

Yo kid, can't you just fucking lurk for a few months on WSO so you don't have to ask your retarded questions all at once?

You had enough time to waste writing this. Would’ve been better had you just answered my question in the first place.

Idk what the most lucrative is but typically buyside pays more. If you’re an ace earner then hedge funds probably but you gotta be really, really good. Which you won’t be cos yk u just asked what the Harvey specter of finance is. I guess prop trading is the highest paying finance gig you can get out of undergrad but u sorta need to be doing a stem degree.

also maybe don’t admit to creating another account cos ur other one got banned?

Hello fellow young degenerate. Just some advice on minimizing the amount of other retards who will be heckling you: don't ask what the Specter equivalent is of the finance industry, though good choice of shows. Also, take the other gentleman's advice on not admitting you got blocked as admins (if they are anything like Quora or other forums) are hyper-vigilant and dedicated to enforcement of their policies. In response to your questions, yes you can get into JPM or GS from Kings College as it is a semi-target university. On average, investment banking is the highest paying, however, private equity is the highest paying entry level job (or at least it is higher than IB). I wouldn't go into IB if I were you unless you had a passion for it, as it is a very demanding job that leaves very little room for anything else. I wish you the best of luck.

thank you. What I mean by the harvey thing was whether there was a job in finance where we could actually make a difference. I guess these other individuals didn’t get that.

Kid. Let go of the “making a difference crap” as early as possible. Long story short, the corporate world is a rat race and the people who want to “make a difference” end up working for non-profits or unemployed. This is finance, cut the facade of bullshit and then smile once you finally get fucking paid. “Oh but what about xyz job and…” blah blah blah. The people who you think are making a difference aren’t, plain and simple. They’re just as corrupt as the rest of them, only they got you to fall for their PR.
alternatively, you can go to the UN peacekeeping force and pretend to make a difference to your family and friends (even though the UN peacekeeping force has never once kept peace) I’m sure they’ll think you’re a lovely kid

Patrick Bateman is a good equivalent for Harvey Spectre but some people might not agree. There are not a lot of options to choose from though
