Summer Internship at BB
Hey all, I'm new to the site and was wondering what my chances are at landing an internship at a top IBank. I'm currently a junior at a target school (one of the top liberal arts) majoring in Economics with an overall GPA of 3.4 and a major GPA of 3.6 (i should be able to bring both of these up a tad after this semester, right before recruiting, and both GPAs have been steadily rising since freshman year). relevent coursework includes a security valuation class, corporate finance, portfolio theory class, financial statement analysis, as well as both managerial and financial accounting. i kind of got fucked out of an internship at a big bank last summer and since i had no other finance related job options, i went back to work as a project director at a litigation support firm. im involved in two of my school's investment clubs as well. i also landed an internship at Smith Barney for the semester. i basically was wondering what my chances are, considering my lack of financial work experience until this semester. any tips? thanks a lot.
What division of Smith Barney?
wealth management....i know, not ibanking, but it's a start...also, i am pretty active in the on campus clubs. we manage two different portfolios (one is 6 figures, the other is 7) for two alumni, so we do get to learn some really good portfolio theory and valuation.
