Switch from Engineer to IB

Current new grad in FAANG SWE role after graduating from a target school with an engineering degree. Not enjoying this role culturally and feel that the pace of career progression is too slow. I have always had an interest in banking. Is it feasible to break into a reputable bank as a lateral, or is an MBA my only real option? Also interested in a VC/tech HF exit, would those doors still be open?

going from engineering/SWE role to IB is cooked. Your best bet might be a MBA and doing some IB related internships on the side to really pad up that resume apart from your SWE role to have some relevance in the career field.

Puruse MBA at a program with strong on campus recruitment. Based on experience, if you are a competent engineer, you won’t like IB
