Taking a year off and coming back

Hi all,

I worked at BB for 1.5 years, moved to a PE and have worked ~1 year since then. Recently I have been feeling burnt out and want to switch out of my sector coverage as well.

I am planning to take some time off to try out things I wanted to do such as studying for something random but I like in university / working on some small businesses with my college friends and spending more time with my family.

I am based in Asia and I guess it is very tough to get back to the job market after taking a year off to chill without a legit reason. Would it be possible if I move to the US/Europe for a masters (MBA or non-MBA masters) and still be able to get a decent job afterwards?

In the exact same boat - thinking about leaving after the first bonus to take 6 months off (2 years IB and what will be one year PE). Interested to know how difficult it would be to get back into the "high finance" job market after leaving. My reasons are more health related (seriously need to focus on a few things that have been holding me back / causing significant problems health wise).

With all that said - bump.
